Calculate your eco-footprint

EPA Victoria, in partnership with Centre for Design RMIT and Mathis Wackernagel of Redefining Progress, have developed Eco-footprint Calculators for households, offices, and schools. There are two calculators available for householders.

The tool allows you to measure your household demands on the planet. Further to this, the tool allows you to calculate the degree to which simple alternatives to everyday behaviours can reduce the size of your eco-footprint.

Householders Online Eco-footprint Calculator

The web based calculator is a short quiz which estimates how much productive land and water you need to support what you use and what you discard. The simple questionnaire calculates a quick and relatively accurate ecological footprint for an individual living in Australia. There are 18 questions relating to food, transport, shelter and goods/services.

Spreadsheet calculators for households, offices and schools

The second calculator for householders asks more detailed questions about your lifestyle, and provides you with your actual footprint from the activities you undertake in your daily life.
